iOS 10/11 Update Bricked Your iPhone? Here’s How to Fix

iOS 11 or iOS 10.3 brick your iPhone? Unfortunately, some users are complaining that the update is bricking their devices, such as:

fix brick iPhone iOS 11/10

After iOS 10 installation finished, iPhone 6S Plus screen is tinged with blue and non-operational.
The iOS 10 update halts and your phone displays a “Connect to iTunes” screen similar to recovery mode, preventing the update from going further.
Once connected to iTunes, a message appears that an error occurred and a restore is necessary. Both iPhone and iPad revert back to iOS 9.3.5/9.3.3/9.3.
Other users report receiving iTunes error -39 during updates.

The update might have sent the iPhone or iPad into a boot loop, left it stuck showing the Apple logo or in a similar so called “bricked” state. Essentially this means the iPhone or iPad will be bricked and unusable until it can be restored or successfully updated with iTunes and a computer.

Solution for Fixing Bricked iPhone Through Restoring from Recovery Mode

Did iOS 10 brick your iPhone? Here’s a quick-and-dirty guide to getting your iPhone back to normal:

Method 1. Hard Reboot Your Bricked iPhone

If iOS 10 is bricking your iPhone and iPad, you can do a hard reboot on your bricked device: Press and hold the Home and Power button at the same time until Apple logo appears on the phone screen. Then release both buttons and your iPhone will boot up successfully.

Method 2. Restore Your iPhone with iTunes (Data Loss)

According to Apple suggest, when you are running into 11/iOS 10/9.3.5/9.3/9 update failure and the iPhone is bricked, you can restore your device in iTunes to fix it, but all files in your device will be erased after restoring. If you did not make a backup before iOS 10/9.3.5/9.3/9 update and do not want to lose your data, please skip this method and use iPhone System Repair to repair iOS to normal without losing data (Way 4).

When you connect your iPhone that is in recovery mode to iTunes, iTunes will pop up a window with following messages and click the “Update” button to fix the problem. If updating doesn’t work, you have to click “Restore” which erases all settings and data.

Method 3. How to Fix Bricked iPhone without Data Loss

Finally, if methods above don’t work for you can try iOS System Recovery to repair your corrupted iOS 11/10/9/8 to normal. In this way, you can easily fix bricked iPhone without iTunes or restoring and without data loss. iOS System Recovery features in particular should be helpful when it comes to fix iOS to normal for iPhone iPad iPod when your device is stuck in recovery mode, DFU mode, Apple logo, iTunes logo, connect to iTunes screen, etc.

Step 1.Download and Install the Progran on Your Computer

From the “More Tools” section, select “iOS System Recovery” and then connect the bricked iPhone to the computer using USB cables. The program will detect your device. Click “Start” to go on.

iOS System Repair can be your ultimate solution whenever your iPhone is stuck at white apple, reboot loop, black screen, or runs into system crash/freeze.

Under what circumstances iOS 10 Update will brick your device:

There is a mistake when overwriting the firmware and other low system software.
It can happen when the device loses power during a firmware update. This is why it is very important to ensure that the battery is full during an update and if you are charging the device as the software updates, be careful to not pull the cord from the power source.
Errors when jailbreaking a device or installing third-party modifications including third-party ROMs on your iPhone can also cause Bricking.
