Step 1.Run the Recovery Program and connect Galaxy S8/S7 to Computer
To start with, download, install and run the Samsung Data Recovery program on your computer, then make a connection between your S8 device and computer.
Step 2.Enable USB Debugging on Your Samsung Device
The program will prompt you to “Enable USB debugging” according to three different situations:
1) For Android 5.1 to 6.1: Enter “Settings” > Click “About Phone” > Tap “Build number” for several times until getting a note “You are under developer mode” > Back to “Settings” > Click “Developer options” > Check “USB debugging”
2) For Android 4.2 to 5.0: Enter “Settings” > Click “About Phone” > Tap “Build number” for several times until getting a note “You are under developer mode” > Back to “Settings” > Click “Developer options” > Check “USB debugging”
3) For Android 4.2 or earlier: Enter “Settings” > Click “Developer options” > Check “USB debugging”
Step 3.Choose Data to be Scanned
Tick the data types that you want. There are “Contacts”, “Messaging”, “Messages Attachment”, “Call Logs” “Gallery”, “Pictures Library” “Videos”, “Audio” and “Documents.” Here you need to select “Messaging” and then click “Next” button to go on.
Turn to the screen of your Galaxy S8 phone now, you will see a request pops up on it. Just click “Allow” and “Start” button one-by-one, which will allow the program to scan lost data from your Galaxy S8/S7 device.
