[Summary]: iOS 13 update stuck on “Update Requested”, “Verifying Update”, “Preparing for Update”, “Activation Error”, “Estimating Time Remaining”, etc? Here are some quick fix tips for you so that you can get the iOS 13 update working on your iPhone.
The new iOS 13 is ready to install. It works on iPhone SE, iPhone 6s (Plus), iPhone 7/7 Plus, iPhone 8/8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XS, iPod touch (7th-generation). In general, the time to install a public beta should not exceed half an hour, but sometimes it is not. The installation process may not be complete for some reason. Many iPhone and iPad users complain that their iPhone is stuck when they are ready to update iOS 13. Here is the common stuck errors about iOS 13 update and how to fix iPhone stuck on update requested, verifying update, preparing for update, activation error, estimating time remaining, etc.
If you find that your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is stuck on Update Requested, it may be due to one of two reasons: either your internet connection was disrupted, or the Apple server where the update is being requested from is slow to respond likely due to high demand. For the most part, the latter is more likely to happen because many people try to install the new iOS 13 software right away when they release.
After successfully downloading the iOS 13 software, the next step is to verify. During the verification process, your iPhone may stuck on preparing update iOS 13/Verifying Update.
If the iOS 13 update stays on the “estimated time remaining” screen, it means that the Apple server is overloaded with the request to download and install the iOS 13 software update. Try plugging in your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and turning it on for a while to see if it works. If not, please go to Part 2.
In iOS 13, some users were unable to install the update and showed the error “Unable to Install Update an Error Occurred Installing iOS 13.” This means users can’t install iOS 13 on their iPhone / iPad / iPod.
This problem always occurs with Apple’s new software. iPad and iPhone users try to check for updates and they are likely to receive this prompt. If you are using a wireless internet connection, you may also receive the message “An error occurred while checking for software update.”
This is a rare issue, but usually happens when updating software via iTunes. The error code is “Error 1671” and a display message “The iPhone software update server could not be contacted”. It may happen because you are experiencing Internet connectivity issues or Apple server overload.
Activation error is a common challenge in iOS devices. After updating to iOS 13, you will receive a pop-up message “Could not activate iPhone” or “Activation Error”. This problem usually occurs when your iPad or iPhone cannot contact the Apple server.
Here are some methods that you can try to fix the issue without any hassle if you’re stuck at “Update Requested”, “Verifying Update” while installing the iOS 13 OTA update.
Step 1. Open the Settings app and go to General, iPhone Storage (or iPad Storage).
Step 2. Find “iOS 13” in the list and click “Delete Update“. You will need to confirm that you want to remove the update from your device.
3. Restart your iOS device by turning it off and then on again (or hard reboot).
Step 4. Go back to Settings > General > Software Update and click Download & Install when iOS 13 is displayed again.
iPhone 6s and earlier: Press and hold the Home button and Power button together until your iPhone powers off and the Apple logo comes up.
iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus: Press and hold both the Volume button and Sleep/Wake button until your device shuts down and the Apple logo appears on the screen.
iPhone 8, X, XS, XS Max, XR: Press the Volume Up button then Volume Down button in quick succession, then press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo shows up on the screen.
Launch iTunes with your computer, next connect your iPhone to PC. Secondly, click on the device icon located at the top left. Hit on ‘Summary‘ tab now and subsequently, click on ‘Update‘.
Network problems are usually resolved by network reset, but resetting the network settings erases all saved Bluetooth connections, Wi-Fi networks, APNs and server settings on the phone. If you want to try this solution, then the next thing to do is:
step 1. On the Home screen, tap Settings and select General.
Step 2. Scroll down to and click Reset.
Step 3. Select the Reset Network Settings option. (Enter the device password when asked to continue.)
Step 4. Then click on the option to confirm that you want to reset the network settings.
After the reset is complete, the device will automatically restart. After connecting to your Wi-Fi network, please try again to download and install the iOS 13 beta update.
